Norman Cruz Marín

After graduating in science with a major in Physics at the University of Chile, I started my Master’s degree in Physical Sciences (University of Santiago de Chile) and in 1995 doctoral degree in Physical Sciences. My doctoral thesis was on the Geodesic Structure of the Black Hole and Stellar Stability in Three Dimensions. Currently, my main research areas are Theoretical Cosmology and Lower Dimensional Black Holes.

 My teaching career at the University of Santiago is related to the subjects of General Relativity; Introduction to Cosmology; Introduction to Astrophysics and Introduction to Black Holes for the majors of Physical Engineering, LEFM, Master in Philosophy of Science, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering.

 

 My scientific research is on the General Relativity and Cosmology, with an emphasis on dark energy and dissipative dark matter models.

 

 Throughout my academic life at the University of Santiago de Chile, I have been a member of the Academic Council, Vice Dean of Research, Member of the Postgraduate Committee, Director of the Postgraduate Program, Director of the Physical Engineering studies, Member of the Faculty Council and member of the Department Council.
