Enrique Cerda Villablanca

After graduating in Science from the Faculty of Physical Sciences of the University of Chile in 1993, I began my PhD in Physical Sciences under the tutelage of Professor Enrique Tirapegui. My graduate thesis was on phenomena in viscous fluids and part of the area known as Nonlinear Physics. Graduating in 1996, the next step was to do a post-doctorate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) under the guidance of Professor L. Mahadevan.

 

My work at the University of Santiago began in 1998 in where I am employed until present. Between 2001 and 2003 I was holding a visiting professor position at the University of Cambridge at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP, Cambridge-England), after which I resumed my academic work at the University of Santiago. From that date until now I have been focusing on my academic work and research.
