Academic degree:
2006-2010 PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics, University of Manchester, UK
2003-2005 Master in Astronomy, Universidad de Chile
1998-2002 Bachelor of Science m/Physics, Universidad de Chile
Research Lines:
Earth and Space Sciences
Activity:
My main line of research is pulsars. We use data taken with radio telescopes or X-ray satellites to study how they rotate and what physical processes alter their rotation. In this way we learn about what happens inside and outside pulsars.
Recently I have also been working on space physics. In particular, we have been using data taken in the Earth's magnetosphere to study how energy is distributed among particles and the effects of turbulence on energy transport in the tail of the magnetosphere.
