PhD Admission

Requirements

To enter the PhD Program, the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field, whose appropriateness will be evaluated by the Program Committee. The candidate must prepare a letter of application to the Director of the PhD Program, specifying the academic degree to which he/she is applying and the reasons that motivate him/her to start graduate studies. The Program Committee, based on the background and an eventual personal interview with the applicant, will recommend or not admission to the program.

Application Process

Applications to the PhD in Physics are open all year round. Each year, at the end of July and at the end of December, the PhD Program Committee collects, respectively, the applications for the second semester of the current year and the first semester of the following year. The exact dates will be published in due course. Applicants must fill out and attach all the documentation requested in an online application form on the University of Santiago de Chile website for graduate applicants. At the beginning of the application form, they must indicate whether they are applying for the second semester of the current year or the first semester of the following year.

First Semester 2025: Applications until November 12th, 2024
